Jim Cermak – Partner
Jim has over 25 years of experience in the marine industry. Jim joined the marine industry retail ranks after serving 9 years in the USCG as a SAR coxswain and Law enforcement boarding officer and trainer. He began his career at West Marine as an assistant manager in Anchorage, AK and has held various regional sales and executive roles with some of the largest manufacturers in the marine business including ICOM, Survitec Group, Stearns, and Absolute Outdoor. Jim has also served 2 consecutive terms on the United States Marine Safety Association board of directors.
Rick Waedekin – Partner
Rick Waedekin is a seasoned professional with a robust background in marine, aviation, and land mobile sales, boasting nearly three decades of sales experience. Currently serving as the Managing Member of Coast Marine Marketing since 2022, Rick brings unparalleled expertise and leadership to the firm. Before joining Coast Marine Marketing, Rick held several key positions at ICOM America.
Michelle Cermak
Although Michelle is new to the marine industry, she grew up around the shooting sports and outdoor business and her knowledge on how things work is instrumental in making TCM Sales go. Michelle is our “CFO” and keeps our books in order and our expenses under control. Michelle is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Portland and has her Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and holds a Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) designation. Michelle has held executive level roles in the finance world with U.S. Bank and Les Schwab Tire Centers.
Nicolas Johnson
Nick Johnson is a Marketing graduate from Oregon State University and holds a Professional Sales Certificate from the OSU College of Business. He brings seven years of retail sales and customer service experience, including leadership roles in store operations and store management. Nick also spent four summers as a whitewater raft guide on Oregon’s Deschutes River, developing strong leadership and communication skills. As an active participant in collegiate sales competitions throughout the Northwest, he gained valuable mentorship from industry leaders.
Adam Waedekin
Adam Waedekin recently graduated from Arizona State University where he obtained a degree in Organizational Leadership with a concentration in Project Management. A lifelong boater, Adam grew up on the waters of Puget Sound and has developed a strong appreciation for the marine industry and the customers we serve. Outside of work, he has been a competitive soccer goalkeeper since the age of nine, this experience has helped shape his leadership, resilience, and team-oriented mindset.
